Interactive Media Evaluation 

I have researched  different 2d platform games  and created my own game which is about two long lost lovers.

My research was easy to find because I love games and I like to draw different game characters.

I decided to research  ten 2D platform games and I was surprised what games were on the list.

I also researched different game characters  that I knew from games that I played   and looked what made them memorable I learnt that they all have bright colours in common. In my pre-production research, I looked at different platform games what I learnt from this is that the history that it first began in the 1950s and I was shocked how early it began. The questions that I was given  were quite an eye opener because I did not know much about the background of games design and it was shocking for me to know that there is more to a game then what meets the eye. I also did not know that platform games were so popular I think it is also cool that all games have a unique selling point which is the key marketing selling point. 

We were given a choice out of the design brief  for my character, location and mission.

I chose to use a princess warrior, the mission is to dispose of an evil wizard and the world is where plants and trees can talk. I chose these options because I can only draw women perfectly, I like wizards and I like the idea that plants and trees can talk. 

Writing my synopsis  was easy because I had designed my charicters and with that I had to find a way to tie them into a story it was hard trying to find a secret to involve in my story so I decided to write that they were lovers and it is going to be a secret until the end of the game.

To bring colour and outline to my sketches I used Illustrator and Photoshop. I found that this was hard because I could not get straight line it would only give me curved lines. I had to overcome this by altering my design so that it would be more curved. What I have learnt is how to draw with a tablet to get more of an accurate drawing then drawing with a mouse. After I finished my outline I used Photoshop so I can colour my characters and draw my background. I found colouring in Photoshop was quite difficult because I had to create so many layers to build up my characters colours it took me a while to colour them in but I like the overall outcome. The finished piece is what I wanted and it looked like my ideas. If I was to colour them again I would blend the colours together to make a better and more 3D feel to the characters and I would like to draw the hands a lot better.

Overall I enjoyed this project because it was fun and it was a good insight to the gaming world I also enjoyed it because it is the things that I am into at home. If I would to start it all over again I would have changed the world layout to a world that is nearly covered in water because I think the world that I chose did not fit the story properly.

My synopsis  is about a princess warrior who is chasing an evil wizard down and tries to defeat him.

My story is about a princess who is called Aphrodite Till Herno who has fallen in love with a boy who is called Jack Bleack who she knew from her land. She ends up meeting her new found secret crush and she asks him to go out with her and Aphrodite is overjoyed that he accepted her hand In a relationship. A while has passed and jack who is a wizard confesses that he is a wizard and she accepts him for who he is.

 Aphrodite and Jack relationship develops even further, they started going on dates and doing romantic stuff and he bought a matching pair of necklaces and gave one to her and kept one for himself. Jack wants a more committed relationship and engaging in sexual content but the Aphrodite said I can only do that if I get married.

 Jack purposed to her and she is so overjoyed, she runs home to her castle to tell daddy and while she is telling daddy the wonderful news Jack is being seduced by another woman and he can’t maintain his urges and engages in sexual content.  While he was having sex he was caught in the act buy Aphrodite. The princess runs of crying to her dad at home and her dad gives her the gift of vengeance, she gains magical powers so she runs off to find him and kill him but he has laid safety traps to keep him safe.

 Aphrodite gets passed them all safely and fights him but doing so she sees the necklace that he is wearing and stops and realizes that she still loves him and he goes in for a kiss , he realizes his mistake and they get married and live happily ever after.
